Job Title: Operations Manager / Project Manager

Overview
 We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to support the owner in managing our residential remodeling and handyman business. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong background in construction, project management, and team development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence business growth, streamline operations, and help foster a positive, high‑performance company culture.

Key Responsibilities
 • Provide leadership that promotes safety, high performance, and strong morale across the organization
 • Collaborate with the owner to develop and implement essential procedures, policies, and growth strategies
 • Help cultivate a company culture that encourages top performance and employee satisfaction
 • Estimate and manage projects both remotely and on‑site
 • Follow up on submitted proposals and secure new projects by guiding them toward successful outcomes
 • Oversee scheduling and management of field employees, aligning tasks with their skill sets to maximize quality and efficiency
 • Contribute to business expansion by consistently meeting and exceeding sales targets
 • Manage fleet vehicles, shop equipment, and inventory to support efficient operations
 • Conduct project quality‑control audits to ensure high craftsmanship standards and safety compliance
 • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and business partners
 • Work closely with the owner to develop and execute marketing strategies that support growth and brand visibility
 • Collaborate with CSR and office staff to coordinate lead flow, technician schedules, estimates, invoicing, and project completion
 • Oversee start‑to‑finish project delivery, providing detailed reporting when required
 • Master company software systems and promote their use to streamline operations
 • Balance daily workloads to meet deadlines while maintaining quality and productivity standards
 • Initially work on‑site with up to 50% field project involvement
 • Track job performance, efficiency, and adherence to labor and materials budgets
 • Monitor and manage change orders to ensure profitability throughout each project lifecycle

Desired Knowledge & Skills
 • 15+ years of experience in residential remodeling and construction with deep industry knowledge
 • Proven expertise as a master carpenter, with a passion for teaching, training, and mentoring technicians
 • A WV contractor’s license (or equivalent) preferred, along with experience owning or managing a contracting business
 • 5+ years of project management experience, including cost, scope, and schedule management
 • 5+ years of experience in estimating, scheduling, and business development/sales
 • Strong customer service background with outstanding client‑communication skills
 • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings
 • Strong understanding of business economics with solid mathematical skills
 • Safety‑focused and committed to delivering high‑quality work
 • Honest, transparent, reliable, and professional in all interactions
 • Ability to quickly master business and operations software
 • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and relevant programs
 • A mentorship‑driven mindset with the ability to positively coach and develop employees
 • Ambitious, with a long‑term desire to potentially operate your own business
